Symptoms- Often no signs or symptoms.
- Painful open blisters on or in the genitals, anus, or thighs.
- Flu-like symptoms.

| Treatment- Herpes cannot be cured.
- There is no cure because herpes is a virus (there is no cure for viruses), but medication can help reduce outbreaks.

w/o Treatment- You can give it to your sexual partner(s). Though medical treatment may heal blisters, even make them disappear, the evidence is inconclusive as to whether or not it can reduce transmission.
- A mother with herpes can give it to her baby during childbirth.
