Health Sexuality is a central component of life as a healthy human being.

Sexually Healthy Adolescents:

      • Appreciate their own bodies
      • Interact with both genders in appropriate and respectful ways
      • Express love and intimacy in appropriate ways
      • Avoid exploitative relationships
      • Know their own values
      • Take responsibility for their own behavior
      • Communicate effectively with family and friendes
      • Ask questions of parents and adults about sexual issues

Sexually Transmitted Infections

STIs are sometimes referred to as Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD). Since 1917 Social Health Education has been dedicated to educating children and adults on preventing sexually transmitted diseases and infections. Links on this page contain valueable information about various STIs and their harmful effects. There are approximatly 19 million new cases of STIs every year, nearly half occuring among 15-24 year olds.
